Hello WIS Families!

We hope everyone had a wonderful and informative week joining your Back to School Nights!

Thank you to everyone who joined our grade-wide courtyard coffee chats and Milestone gatherings—it was great to connect with so many of you!

We apologize for the incorrect start time for 4th Grade Back To School Night that appeared in last week’s Whistle. The calendar was correct on the backend, but for some reason, it published differently—causing confusion. We’re sorry for the inconvenience!

The PTO works hard to keep families updated on both PTO and school events. That said, if there is ever a question about the date or time of a school-organized event (like BTSN), please always defer to official school communications such as the Week Ahead email.

We're looking for someone to help with our social media! If you're great at posting to Facebook and Instagram, we would love your help highlighting all that's happening at WIS! Reach out to stephanie.feingold@gmail.com to learn more.

The next BOE meeting will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 20th via Zoom. You can view it Here

Opt in to share your contact info with your Room Parents so that you can stay informed about class' gatherings, field trips, volunteer opportunities, and when the class needs more tissues or Clorox Wipes. If you're not on the list, you won't receive any communications from your room parents because teachers are unable to share your contact information with the PTO.

There will be coffee!

Thanks to your PTO membership contributions, we were able to provide the school with brand-new recess equipment! Many of the items—spikeball, sports gear, jump ropes, games, and more—came directly from the kids’ own requests.

A portion of the proceeds from every order placed on or before Picture Day will be returned to WIS PTO to support our fundraising efforts. 

Orders placed after Picture Day will include a handling fee, per Coffee Pond policy.

Fall 2025 after school programs are underway at WIS. 

Our Winter Session 1 program brochure will be available early October; registration opens 10/20 and programs will begin 11/10

Dive into old photos from the Weston History & Culture Center archives and uncover the stories they tell. Learn about the early days of photography, explore photos from over 150 years ago, and use clues to create a story about these images from the past. Through discussion and hands-on activities, this class will inspire you to see photography in a new light.

No prior experience is required. Bring a camera, tablet or smartphone to capture photos. Please let us know if you don’t have one and we will provide one to share.

On September 20, join WHS Senior Bruce Matos for a free martial arts intro class at Lachat. This event is for kids ~5-10 years old.
